Process

Our textiles are dimensional and one-of-a-kind as each yard passes through the careful, skilled hands of multiple craftsmen and women- weavers, block printers and embroiderers.

The fabric designs start on paper as doodles. Inspiration abounds from the everyday - a child’s laughter, the colors and patterns in the streets of Bombay, a leaf on a tree, the ripples on water, colors of the New England Fall, Indian architecture- the muses are boundless...

After the patterns are created, the appropriate ground cloth is woven and the woodblocks are cut. The fabrics are hand block printed by skilled craftspeople in India- one repeat at a time, using low impact, eco friendly dyes. Lastly, it is passed on to the craftswomen who painstakingly embroider the yardage- stitch by stitch.
